to provide individual taste, these armor
grade 13/15 oz protectors grant relief to

Armour crafted
in historically correct 13th Century styling.
We based the design of these legs on late 13th
century effigies and use a traditional
cuirbouille hardening method that very few
armourers employ today. Poleyns and Rondels
are hardened in a several step process that
requires patience, precision, and care. The
end result is a beautiful waterproof hardness
that is the toughest barrier you can get with
leather armour.

Was there
historically any evidence of studded armour?
No, however there is no physical evidence of
many types of armour due to the organic
nature of leather. Many times we must look
at an effigy, a historic representation of a
person, usually as a sculpture), and based
on timeline, location and available
materials used for armoring form a
hypothesis of what the armour is composed
of.
Therefore
rather than refer to these as specifically
studded 3/4 legs, we add the presupposition
that there MAY have existed a form of
leggings which were meant to LOOK like
splinted armour.You decide what to call
them. We just call them cool as hell.

Greek "Hoplite"

popular and highly functional greaves which
were thought to have been originally formed by
gluing several layers of linen together.
Inasmuch as Greeks did have cows around, for
food, sacrifice, etc., it is much more likely
that they formed their "hoplite" greaves
from...yes, leather. Bronze was also used for this
purpose, but was harder to fashion, more
expensive, and much more tiring to move
